WWE has a lot of plans in the pipeline as they travel down the road to WrestleMania. Several big matches haven’t been announced yet, but we have a bit of a spoiler on WWE’s direction for Rey Mysterio.

Dominik Mysterio is now happy with his “Mami” in the Judgment Day stable. Rey Mysterio even requested a move off WWE RAW, so he could stay away from Dominik, but Dom and Rhea plan to make a trip to SmackDown this week to see Mr. 6-1-9.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that WWE’s current plan for WrestleMania 39 is to see Rey Mysterio finally take on his son, Dominik Mysterio, in a singles match. It turns out that this was always the plan, even though it hasn’t been announced yet.

Rey Mysterio vs Dominik Mysterio has been a long time in the making. This isn’t the first time that WWE has written a feud between family members, but it’s a very rare occasion when a father/son storyline comes along. After all, WWE fans might not have seen something with this much father/son drama since Shane McMahon and Vince McMahon’s storylines back in the day.

We will have to see how WrestleMania 39 pans out. It appears that Rey Mysterio will finally face his son on the grandest stage of them all. The big question is how that match will end, because it very well could just be the first confrontation in a long story left to be written.
