Sasha Banks is widely regarded as one of the greatest female professional wrestlers of all time, largely due to her exceptional skills in the ring. Her sudden departure from WWE RAW in the past year sparked a great deal of speculation and rumors. However, she subsequently returned to the wrestling scene in NJPW under the name Mercedes Mone, cementing her status as a prominent figure in the industry. Now it seems a huge dream match with Mone could very well happen in AEW.

The NJPW Battle At The Valley saw a remarkable moment when Mercedes Mone fearlessly challenged KAIRI for the IWGP Women’s Championship and emerged as the triumphant victor, clinching the prestigious title. To heighten the excitement, a former WWE colleague was in attendance, helping to electrify the audience and make the occasion all the more unforgettable.

As previously reported, Spectrum Cable’s pay-per-view event listings page has the event listed for Saturday, June 24. With the announcement of Forbidden Door being listed for the upcoming event, rumors have begun to circulate about the possibility of Mercedes Mone appearing on the show, given her current status as the IWGP Women’s Champion.

During Wrestle Kingdom 17, Mercedes Mone had the opportunity to meet AEW’s Kenny Omega. Taking advantage of the buzz surrounding the co-promoted event, she promoted her YouTube documentary about her NJPW journey. In a social media post, she mentioned Omega, saying, “So nice to meet you @KennyOmegamanX until our paths meet again.” Omega responded, suggesting that there may be future opportunities for them to work together, given their shared involvement with NJPW and the possibility of mixed matches.

“Our work with NJPW isn’t quite done yet, so I’m sure they will! I hear they sometimes do mix matches now too…”

While a one-on-one match between Mone and Omega isn’t likely to happen, they could do a mixed tag team match, as Mone did stand tall with IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada to close out the recent Battle in the Valley show. Omega and Okada had several memorable matches over the years.
