Paul Wight started off his career as The Giant in WCW, before making a name for himself as The Big Show in WWE. He spent two decades in WWE and took part in numerous storylines before parting ways with the company. He’s now part of the AEW family and hasn’t competed much since joining the company. That being said, Wight hopes to be back in the ring soon.

Wight eventually decided to take his skills elsewhere and made his way to AEW back in 2021. Since then, he has been content working as part of the commentary team on AEW Dark: Elevation and occasionally competing in the ring.

Last year, Wight revealed that he underwent hip replacement surgery and then also noted the fact that he did not want to take spots away from the younger talent.

While speaking during a recent interview with Metro UK, Paul Wight talked about the injury setbacks he suffered in the past few months. That being said, Wight is hopeful about an in-ring return.

You know, there’s been some setbacks personally. I mean, I’ve had a couple of injury setbacks, had to get a knee replaced in August. That knee was bad for 12 years, so it could’ve gone any day! It’s like kind of like that tire on your car that you know you should change but keep driving anyway.

But we’re good now, and hopefully we’ll be back in the ring in March. Everything’s on schedule, so we’re looking good!”

Paul Wight is more than happy where he is in AEW and that is what matters in the end. It remains to be seen when Paul Wight will compete in the ring again. Fans would love to see him return for another match.
