Triple H Doesn’t Believe He Cheated On Chyna With Stephanie McMahon

WWE is famous for its wild storylines and provocative content. It’s not uncommon for characters to participate in romantic programs as part of a storyline or character development. In professional wrestling, such scripted romantic moments can often turn into real-life flings with far fetching consequences.

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon’s relationship began as part of a WWE storyline in late 1999. At the time, Triple H was still dating fellow wrestler Chyna in real life. Chyna later accused The Game of cheating on her with Stephanie, revealing that she found out about his romance with Vince McMahon’s daughter when she came across a love note addressed to him.

In an interview with Howard Stern in 2002, Triple H addressed the accusations made against him by Chyna.

“There’s a misconception of the way that things ended with us, but it was our relationship had gone downhill. There’s a period of time where we were seperated and things happened in between and then you kind of partway get back together and it really wasn’t a full-blown relationship at that time. [Technically you weren’t cheating?] yeah, I don’t see things the same way she does.”

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were married in 2003 and have been together ever since. Chyna and Triple H were together from 1996 to 2000 and during that time the former Women’s Champion was a prominent wrestler in the WWE. Chyna and Stephanie had a few spats during the time when the 9th Wonder Of The World was with The King Of Kings.

In 2003, Stephanie McMahon revealed during an interview with Howard Stern that Triple H had a real life crush on her during the beginnings of their onscreen relationship.

Chyna’s former manager, Anthony Anzaldo, also publicly accused Triple H of cheating on her with Stephanie McMahon. The Game had allegedly sabotaged Chyna’s wrestling career by trying to get her fired and by publicly degrading her.

Sadly, Chyna passed away on April 17th, 2016 of an overdose of alcohol, combined with anxiety drugs, sleeping aids, and painkillers. She is not around to tell her side of the story now, or enjoy her time as a WWE Hall of Famer.
