Stone Cold’ Steve Austin remains one of the most iconic Superstars in WWE history. His match at WrestleMania 38 last year surpassed all expectations and because of this, fans wondered if he would compete in another match this year. While it was initially believed that Austin competing was a done deal, it seems that may not be happening anymore.

Steve Austin had a tremendous match against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38. In the past few months, Steve Austin could be seen training very hard at the gym, getting into in-ring shape.

Due to this, fans were certain that they would get to see The Texas Rattlesnake in the ring once again on April 1st and 2nd. Unfortunately, the chances of that are almost zero now.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that The Bionic Redneck turned down competing at WrestleMania 39 this year, but is likely to make an appearance.

“As far as Austin goes, Steve might be at the show – I wouldn’t be surprised at all – he might do something on the show, but he did in fact turn down wrestling at the show.

He was offered Lesnar, he was offered Roman Reigns, he could have named his opponent if he wanted to do it with anybody else. But he did not choose to wrestle on the show.”

We will have to wait and see what role Steve Austin will play at the Show of Shows in April. Regardless, fans are certainly disappointed that they won’t get to see Austin compete again.
