Chris Jericho is over 50 years old and his body has sustained significant wear and tear from his years in the ring. It is possible that he may not be able to continue wrestling for much longer.

That being said, there is still a lot left in the tank for Jericho. In fact, being such a seasoned veteran, Jericho has his own opinion as to what is the most important thing in pro wrestling.

While speaking on WTF with Marc Maron, Chris Jericho shared his insights on the significance of wrestling to him and how a wrestler can distinguish themselves from others. He then explained what’s the most important thing in pro wrestling, which is storytelling.

”Wrestling is all character. The moves are important, and the matches are exciting, but you have to connect with the audience. It’s just like comedy, or acting, or anything. You have to connect with the audience. If you can do that to a high level, the audience will pay to see you, and they’ll be interested in what you’re doing

That’s the number one thing of wrestling — it’s storytelling. There’s gonna be some crazy matches, [where] the athleticism is through the roof, but the stories behind them are the most important thing.”

Chris Jericho is currently feuding with Ricky Starks and Action Andretti on AEW television. In fact, Jericho and Sammy Guevara picked up the win over Starks and Andretti on last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. We’ll have to see how their feud will progress.
