SmackDown is set to air from the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This is the seventh SmackDown episode in the nine-week countdown to the Royal Rumble on January 28th. WWE brought in additional extras for SmackDown tonight.
Bayley, as well as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions IYO SKY and Dakota Kai, have been preoccupied with Becky Lynch on Raw recently and haven’t been seen on SmackDown. Obviously, Damage CTRL has a lot of attention from fans and WWE creative.
Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall that WWE sent in extras to serve as officials for a women’s segment staged in the locker room.

SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair is a babyface fighting champion. Flair fought Sonya Deville in an open challenge because Ronda Rousey was not present last week. Rousey is expected to return tonight, maybe setting up a title rematch for the Royal Rumble.
Sami Zayn is set to square off against Kevin Owens tonight. Despite their previous clashes, WWE pundits believe this is the most crucial battle of Zayn’s career. Keep an eye on Ringside News for more.
