Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide announced a new wrestling show planned to debut on Disney+ as part of the Marvel Lucha Libre Edition campaign on the third and final night of Triplemana XXX in Mexico City. It was inspired by Marvel superheroes. It looks like the deal sadly fell through.

Dave Meltzer recently discussed the much anticipated Marvel Lucha Libre series on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He noted that there was an announcement a few months which said that Disney+ would drop the series starting 21st December. The plan eventually fell through.

A few months back they announced that Disney+ would debut the Marvel Lucha Libre series starting on 12/21. Obviously, something fell through since that day has come and gone and nothing has been said in a while regarding that subject.

Marvel’s Lucha Libre-themed project was first revealed in October 2020. At the time, the comic book publisher announced a variety of goods inspired by Mexican professional wrestling, as well as the addition of Marvel-inspired characters to the AAA roster.
