WWE has a long list of trademarked Superstar names, but Impact Wrestling is trying to use one from their history. We’ll have to see how this develops, but the former TNA has their eyes on Santino Marella.

Santino Marella is best known as one of the funniest WWE superstars of all time. The Milan Miracle’s impeccable comic timing coupled with his Italian accent gave way to some of the most iconic WWE moments since the attitude era. Impact Wrestling is presently trying to lock down Marella’s name.

On December 19th, Anthem Wrestling Exhibitions, LLC (through attorney Michael Dockins) submitted a trademark application for the name Santino Marella. Most fans are aware that Anthony Carelli performed the persona in WWE. The trademark was set to expire in 2021, leaving the door open for Impact to acquire it.

This appears to imply that Santino will be visiting Impact soon. Marella has been running the Battlearts school in Toronto, and his daughter Ariana Grace is under contract with WWE. According to Wrestling News, the filing states the following.
