Vince McMahon was forced into retirement when hush money scandal was made public that shook the pro wrestling world to its core. Months later, a report came out from the Wall Street Journal that Vince McMahon is planning comeback. This was not welcomed news within WWE.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Vince McMahon’s return to WWE will be difficult to pull off. Even though he still has allies, Vince McMahon has nobody who is willing to stand up for him right now, even people who have historically been in his corner.

I know allies of Vince who are very much allies of Vince, and very protective of Vince, who are not business allies of Vince right now, because they know it would be the worst thing. They are very strong allies of Vince. People you would think are his allies, you don’t know. Because, people are happier in the company, because the company is running better. People who are allies of Vince, they see the company now, and they don’t want him back.

It was also noted that Bruce Prichard might still be on Vince McMahon’s side, but even then, nobody is standing up and proclaiming that the company needs Mr. McMahon’s return. Only time will tell if Vince McMahon can really pull off a WWE comeback, but stranger things have happened in pro wrestling.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
