Kevin Owens is certainly one of the top Superstars in WWE, and it took him a long time to get to his current level. He has seen a lot of success in WWE since his debut back in 2014, being a multi-time champion. Owens also had a run as the Universal Champion, but it seems Owens is ashamed he couldn’t enjoy his run with that title.

Triple H was instrumental in Kevin Owens becoming the WWE Universal Champion back in 2016, after Triple H took out Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins with a pedigree. He had a fun time alongside his best friend Chris Jericho as champion, but that fun was all a show for the cameras.

Owens had a decent run as the champion until he dropped the title to Goldberg at Fastlane 2017. Now, story has surfaced that Brock Lesnar refused to work with the Prizefighter. While speaking on After the Bell, Kevin Owens admitted that he was ashamed he couldn’t enjoy his run as the Universal Champion.

“When I was Universal Champion, I had this incredible run with Chris Jericho and so many great moments, so many fun moments that people still talk about today. I’m ashamed to say that I really did not enjoy that as much as I should have.

“I’m ashamed to say that I really did not enjoy that as much as I should have. I enjoy it now looking back. When I watch the stuff we were doing together, it’s so fun, it’s so good. But in that moment, I wouldn’t take the time to appreciate what I was doing because I was worried. ‘Okay next week, what are we doing?’”

Owens also wants a match against Roman Reigns in front of real fans. We’ll have to see whether Kevin Owens will get another run as the Universal Champion somewhere down the line or not. Either way, he will certainly try his best to enjoy it, if that opportunity comes around again.
