Carmella has carved out a spot for herself in the WWE women’s division, despite not fitting the stature of gifted in-ring performer. Mella overcame personal tragedy a while back and was supported by friends, family and her fans throughout that entire phase. Carmella took to social media to acknowledge their support.

The former SmackDown Women’s champion recently came out of a personal family tragedy. Carmella, alongside her husband Corey Graves, were expecting their first child. However, she announced that she suffered a miscarriage back in October. The tragic incident took a heavy toll on the SmackDown star. However, with the support of her loved ones and fans, Carmella has risen above the loss of her child and posted on Instagram thanking everyone for their support.

“Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Your love and support has meant the absolute most to me. This fall has been one of the most challenging in my life, but I know I’m not alone.”

Carmella began her WWE career in 2013 back in NXT, as the manager to Enzo Amore and Big Cass. She was called-up to the main roster as a part of the 2016 WWE Draft. Since then, Mella has overcome every hurdle in her path and achieved singles success on her own. Carmella has captured various championships and accolades during her nearly 9-year stint in the WWE.

Carmella and Zelina Vega were the WWE Women’s tag team champions heading into WrestleMania 38. They lost the titles to Sasha Banks and Naomi at the event in a Fatal-4 way match. The next night saw Vega blaming Carmella for the loss, attacking her and ending their alliance. This has been her last appearance on WWE television programming until now.
