Karl Anderson returned to WWE as NJPW’s NEVER Openweight Champion. This created a difficult situation, but it seems that they are going to work things out. The Good Brothers will be in Japan for the World Tag League/Super Junior Tag League finals on Wednesday, December 14th, but that might not be it for The Machine Gun.

Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall that this situation was “unconventional,” but Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows will be permitted to make a trip to NJPW while under WWE contracts. The plan is for Anderson to work out dates with WWE “and advance storylines.”

It was also noted that this upcoming date in December won’t be Karl Anderson’s only appearance for NJPW while under WWE contract. There are also plans ‘penciled in’ for him to make the Tokyo Dome show for Wrestle Kingdom 17.

Those that we’ve spoken to said that the plan is still for Anderson to work more dates beyond his title defense in December, noting that he’s always been penciled in and planning to work the Tokyo Dome show. He and Gallows had committed to working those dates even before they left IMPACT Wrestling.

This would be a huge deal if it happens, because that would turn Wrestle Kingdom 17 into a true “Forbidden Door.” They would have wrestlers from AEW, WWE, Stardom, ROH, and NJPW all on the same show if this deal goes through. Keep checking back with Ringside News for more.
