Akira Tozawa impressed WWE officials with his work in Dragon Gate and ended up signing a contract with the Stamford-based promotion. Tozawa won the NXT Cruiserweight Championship during his time in Triple H’s version of the brand. Tozawa was called to the main roster where he became a parody version of his NXT gimmick.

Triple H became WWE’s Chief Content Officer and restored the original gimmicks of many WWE superstars. The Game ditched the ninja gimmick for Tozawa as well. The former WWE 24/Champion worked the Main Event taping before Raw this week.

Tozawa took on Grayson Waller. The former NXT Cruiserweight Champion brought back his old look for his match against the self-proclaimed face of NXT. Tozawa appeared last week on Raw in a poker segment with JBL and Baron Corbin, with whom he squared off in a singles match during later during the show as well.
