Sami Zayn has excelled at everything he was handed in WWE for well over 8 years now, and the company truly trusts him now. He has consistently delivered in all of his roles so far, but he had to take a break this week. Now the reason for his break has been revealed.

For many fans, Sami Zayn’s current character is the best thing in all of WWE. In fact, this is exactly what Jim Cornette feels as well, which also surprised Sami Zayn for a good reason.

Sami Zayn was also absent from Smackdown this week. Sami Zayn took to Twitter and explained his absence he wrote a message in Arabic, which, when translated from Arabic to English, reads “We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return.”

The phrase is a common prayer used in Islam after the death of someone close. While he has not directly confirmed who passed away, we can assume it was a beloved one nonetheless. We will have to wait and see when Zayn will return to WWE television.
