Matt Hardy is a true veteran in the pro wrestling business, having constantly reinvented himself over the years. Due to his extensive knowledge of the pro wrestling world, his opinion is taken seriously. Still, Hardy’s recent stint in AEW has some worried about how Tony Khan booked him.

Matt Hardy debuted in AEW back in 2020 and so far, he didn’t have the best of times in the company. This is largely due to subpar booking, and pandemic squashing his Broken Universe character that really needed live fans to pull off.

Fans were elated when Jeff Hardy arrived in AEW as well and The Hardy Boys reformed. However, Jeff was arrested for his third DUI earlier this year. Things have only gotten worse since then.

While speaking during the recent Drive Thru episode, Jim Cornette slammed AEW’s booking of The Hardys. He blasted AEW for giving Matt Hardy brain damage as well.

That’s the thing is that [kind] of reunion like the Hardys they should have had a plan in place … Because at first when they brought him back in with underneath guys and spoiled the first reunion on a match that was not goddamn in any way going to interest anybody then that took some of the bloom off of it, and then you should know you’re living on borrowed time with either one because they brain-damaged Matt two or three times before Jeff got there in this company.

We will have to wait and see when Jeff Hardy will return to AEW television and whether The Hardy Boys will have a better time in AEW or not. Jeff Hardy is likely going to wrestle for AEW again, but he will have to wait until his legal situation is in the past. Only time will tell what kind of penalty he might face after his third DUI.
