IMPACT Wrestling star Laredo Kid underwent an emergency surgery after suffering an injury when facing El Hijo del Vikingo, the AAA Mega Champion, at AAA Lucha Libre’s “Showcenter” event on October 23rd in Monterey. After more than a week of being hospitalized, the wrestler has finally reached a stage in his recovery where he is ready to address his fans.

Laredo Kid is quite a prominent wrestler, having ranked 22 out of the top 500 singles wrestlers in the Pro Wrestling industry according to Pro Wrestling Illustrated in 2021. The wrestler is currently signed with IMPACT Wrestling, making appearances in All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and 2021.

The last few weeks have been quite grueling for the pride of Los Dos Laredos. Laredo Kid suffered a ruptured intestine during the AAA “Showcenter” and after spending a week fighting for his life, the wrestler finally felt well enough to address his fans in an article with LMT Online.

“As I ended my fight with Vikingo, I had to be transported to San Vicente Hospital immediately and had to receive emergency surgery, as one of my intestines have become ruptured during the fight,” Laredo Kid said. “It has been the toughest battle I have ever fought in my career and life.”

Laredo Kid stated that the incident that occurred during the AAA “Showcenter” event was life-threatening, and he considered his time in the hospital as a fight for his life. He also expressed his gratitude for the support he received from family, friends and his Laredo fanaticos without whom we wouldn’t have been able to make it.

“After being hospitalized for nine days and fighting for my life, I want to tell everybody that I am back,” Laredo Kid said. “I am back at my house with my family and my children, and it is thanks to all of you — and all of my Laredo fanaticos — that I am better, because you all sent your well wishes, vibes and prayers. I really want to thank you all for always wanting to stay updated about my condition, and I especially want to thank my company Lucha Libre AAA that was always looking as to how I was doing.”

Even though we won’t be seeing Laredo Kid in the ring any time soon, the wrestler has stated that his injury will not prevent him from competing in the future. In fact, he declared that he has a lot more to do in his luchador career and that he would continue to promote the Los Dos Laredos as an exporter of his wrestling style.

As Laredo Kid spends his time recuperating in the comfort of his home, he will be increasingly replying to people who message him on social media and keep concerned fans updated on the status of his health. He also said that he was very grateful to all the well wishes he received since the injury.
