Nick Aldis has been a prominent feature for NWA, mainly as the company’s World Heavyweight Champion. However, things seemed to have reached their breaking point between Aldis and the promotion. Things got so bad that Aldis publicly gave his notice to the company, which resulted in him being suspended and pulled from their upcoming shows.

Fightful is now reporting behind their paywall that their interview with Aldis was postponed following his suspension. Nick Aldis mentioned that Corgan’s disrespect towards himself and his wife Mickie James in the lead up to and after the inaugural NWA Empowerr pay-per-view is a huge reason for the relationship between Aldis and NWA souring.

It was also noted that they have never spoken about it publicly because Aldis was a top star in the company. Several women on the NWA roster also felt disrespected by Corgan and Murdoch’s claims that there wasn’t enough depth or enough women for a second Empowerr show.

“We have heard from several women who have regularly appeared in NWA who also felt disrespected by Corgan and Trevor Murdoch’s claims that there wasn’t enough depth or enough women that could work the NWA style to do a second Empowerrr show. Aldis was scheduled to compete for the NWA Worlds Championship at NWA 74, but was replaced with Tyrus. We’re told Aldis will have some media appearances this week to address the matter. We’ve asked members of the NWA locker room if the situation is a work, who each said they weren’t sure either way,”

Nick Aldis will remain under contract with NWA through the end of the year. If both parties are unable to mend their fences, then Aldis will become a free agent in January next year. Stay tuned as Ringside News will keep you updated as the story develops.
