Bray Wyatt made his return to WWE at the Extreme Rules premium live event last month, and it has many fans riled up. Since his return, he has been tormented by menacing figure in a strange mask. The only thing we really know about this character so far is that his name is Uncle Howdy.

On the October 28th episode of WWE Smackdown, Uncle Howdy finally let the world know who he is. While Wyatt was in the midst of “addressing his inner demons,” Uncle Howdy suddenly popped up on the Titantron and warned Wyatt that he could never hide from his Uncle Howdy.

Fans have been curious to know more about his mysterious character. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter shed some light on the inspiration for this new angle.

The new Captain Howdy character that Wyatt introduced this week on Smackdown is from the 1982 movie “Hysterical,” by the Hudson Brothers. Richard Kiel, the 7-foot-2 giant who was best known as “Jaws” in James Bond movies including “The Spy Who Loved Me,” played the role of Captain Howdy

Bray Wyatt is known for his over the top theatrics and eccentric characters such as his grotesque monster alter ego, The Fiend. It’s interesting to see where he might go with the Uncle Howdy character.

Bray Wyatt is slated to appear in Saudi Arabia for the WWE Crown Jewel PPV this Saturday. Perhaps we would be seeing Uncle Howdy in the flesh for the first time. Only time will tell what WWE has in store for Bray Wyatt’s return.
