Chris Jericho is a true veteran in pro wrestling, who has always managed to keep himself relevant in the past thirty years. He has continuously reinvented himself over the time as well. Despite that, he is being blamed for minimalizing young talent in AEW.

Following MJF’s scathing promo on AEW President Tony Khan a few months ago, MJF remained absent from AEW television. That all changed after MJF was revealed to be the Joker at AEW All Out and confronted CM Punk. MJF also got a massive pop upon his return.

During the AEW All Out media scrum, Chris Jericho stated that he believes MJF would become one of the top babyfaces in AEW. While speaking on The Jim Cornette Experience, Jim Cornette blamed Chris Jericho for MJF possibly turning babyface and in turn, minimalizing young talent in AEW.

“And we heard Chris Jericho came out at that media deal said ‘Oh, MJF’s gotta be babyface immediately.’ Like anybody who hadn’t been in a wrestling business for 20 years would know that the exact thing that you don’t do with a generational talent like MJF is change him up. That’s why they like him because they’ve liked what he’s been but if he can take the edge off MJF and diminish his popularity, then he’s got rid of the veteran and now he’s minimalized the up-and-coming prospect.”

Chris Jericho is the current ROH World Champion and is happy in his role. On the other hand, people in AEW are currently pulling for MJF to turn babyface, even if he doesn’t want it. We’ll have to see what will happen to MJF in the end.
