Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has already cemented himself as one of the all-time greats in the world of professional wrestling. His near-infinite charisma and amazing mic skills took him to the top of WWE. However, there are those who believe The Rock would have a difficult time in the modern-day pro wrestling world.

The Brahma Bull did not have the best of times during the initial stages of his WWE career. He eventually turned it around after turning heel, and the rest is history.

While speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt Hardy talked about The Rock’s career. Hardy stated that he believes The Rock would have a difficult time in the modern-day pro wrestling world.

“Nobody was more over than The Rock. Like that Stone Cold and Rock, they will run the joint, Rock knew exactly what he needed to do to get reactions from the crowd. And he was a master of it. No one was better. If you inserted it into today’s pro wrestling, where it’s like mandatory, you’re much more than like a caricature or cartoon and you have to go out and work an amazing match. It would be a lot more difficult for Rock, but like Rock as far as being a character and being an amazing solid athlete doing more basic fundamental stuff, nobody was better at conrstructing a match.”

Val Venis also recently dragged The Rock’s wrestling ability. The Rock was last seen for the 20th Anniversary of Friday Night SmackDown back in 2019. It is likely he will face Roman Reigns next year, so we’ll have to see whether The Rock can keep up with Reigns or not.
