Johnny Swinger is renowned for his antics in the ring. This time, it was his new contract, not his character work, that made the headline. Recently, Johnny Swinger signed new impact deal.

Swinger will continue appearing on IMPACT Wrestling television for at least another year. Swinger said that he signed a one-year extension with IMPACT wrestling to host Tommy Dreamer on the most recent episode of the “House of Hardcore” podcast.

“Yeah, one more year in the sun, right?” Dreamer inquired about the IMPACT Wrestling star’s deal, and Swinger responded further saying, “they’re offering me another year.”

Swinger acknowledged that after receiving the offer for a contract extension, “there’s a lot of people” came to mind. The former NWA Tag Team Champion claimed that his continued association with the organization puts others, like Ken Shamrock, who are not, in perspective.

“That makes me feel good that I’m a pliable character that you just cameo into something and you have a good idea and it’s like boom, it’s an easy, simple thing and everybody gets it. I’m just grateful for the chance to come back on a TV level and do this character which it’s not really a character. It’s just what I am and what I’ve seen and I add a lot of color to it and I watch a lot of people.”

Since making his in-ring debut in 1993, Swinger has competed for a plethora of wrestling organizations, including stints with WCW, ECW, and the WWE. Since his final tenure with WWE ended in 2006, when Stephanie McMahon fired him for not reciting promo word-for-word, he had a successful independent career that has lasted for most of the last two decades. In the summer of 2019, he initially joined IMPACT Wrestling, which is where his story will continue.
