Serena Deeb is one of the most talented and gifted in-ring female professional wrestlers to compete in long time. Deeb has had an incredible journey in professional wrestling. The AEW star recently explained why she is spending so little time coaching newcomers.

Deeb, AEW standout and former NWA Women’s Champion, recently visited The Flagship for an in-depth discussion on all things pro-wrestling. The Professor explained her role as a coach and how she’s stepped back from doing so in order to compete more inside the squared circle.

Deeb also discussed her relationship with Cody Rhodes, noting that The American Nightmare has always had faith in her abilities. Deeb stated that she has been coaching lot less because she has been wrestling much more.

I’ve been coaching a little less because I’ve been wrestling more. It’s honestly hard to do both on the same day because if you’re wrestling, you have to focus on the whole process of getting ready and on what you’re doing in the match. In the past when I had my knee injury, I was still traveling every week and I was coaching 2-3 matches a night.

Deeb also gave a shoutout to Cody Rhodes. She stated, “I want to give a shout-out to Cody Rhodes because Cody always believed in me and would say to me, ‘You’re my coach, I want you as my coach.’” She further said of Cody, “He always put me in that role for him and showed me that respect. That was really, really huge for me and I really appreciated that.”

We’ll have to see what Deeb has in store for us next. Meanwhile, you can check out her whole interview here. Stay tuned to Ringside for more wrestling news.
