Xavier Woods was one of the host on WWE’s and G4’s collaborative effort, “Arena” series. With G4TV’s shutdown, the network had to lay off number of employees and staff members. Woods isn’t happy with the network’s abrupt end and also compared it to WWE releasing their talent.

Woods appeared on The Completionist’s Twitch stream, where he addressed the entire situation and wondered why Comcast couldn’t just inform the team. He said finding out about the news on Twitter and not directly from Comcast “sucked.”

I just don’t understand why they couldn’t tell anybody and just say hey, we’re gonna make an announcement. Don’t say anything. This is what’s going on. Like we found out on Twitter? Come on. I’m sorry guys this sucks

Woods then compared the network shutting down to WWE releasing talent. He believes this is a setback for the whole G4 crew, who he feels will now be held accountable by fans for the show’s demise.

This is something we always say whenever people get released in wrestling. So now it’s time to show everyone who’s watching that this sh*t didn’t happen because of us, and it’s not going out and saying that. It’s going out and doing that and just being everywhere and involved in everything. G4 is great. I’m so glad that we got to be part of Attack and explain all these awesome shows, but they hired us because we as a group are good at this shit. This is a setback in the sense of like now people are talking that this network went under, but we’re all about to kill it. We’re all about to murder it,

The G4 staff quit before the network was shutdown. G4 boss had sent all the employees an email informing them that all streams had been postponed and the Los Angeles studio would be closed until the next day. However, the shutdown wasn’t mentioned.

The popular gaming network of the 2000s was revived in 2020 with high expectations. Unfortunately, it shutdown only a year after its relaunch leaving many fans disappointed.
