Bray Wyatt returned to WWE at Extreme Rules, and the pro wrestling world exploded with electricity. Those White Rabbit vignettes, glitches, and QR codes hyped his return for weeks, but this was something that took a lot longer than that.

A report came out that said Vince McMahon’s retirement ushered in Bray Wyatt’s return. It was reported that the idea of Wyatt’s comeback was heavily mentioned after Mr. McMahon’s hush money scandal caused him to leave the company. That is not the case.

A tenured member of the WWE creative team confirmed to Ringside News that Bray Wyatt’s WWE return was in motion prior to Vince McMahon’s exit. In fact, it was pretty solid even before Triple H took control of creative.

We were told that, “the negotiations for Bray’s return were already deep and being finalized when Vince retired or resigned.” Along with that point, the only real questions were “a few terms of the contact and when he would start.”

During his WWE departure, Bray Wyatt entertained feelers from AEW and Impact Wrestling. Obviously, nothing could be worked out, because terms couldn’t be settled on. It seems that everything might have worked out in the end.

Bray Wyatt is back, and it’s in a much different regime in WWE. That being said, Triple H adopted the creative head position, with Bray Wyatt’s return already in the pipeline.

Odds are, fans will gravitate to him once again, but it’s anyone’s guess what kind of creative direction things will take.
