Tonight’s SmackDown is set to feature a face-to-face confrontation between Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Logan Paul ahead of their world title match at Crown Jewel.

Also scheduled for SmackDown tonight is the much-anticipated Intercontinental Championship rematch as Gunther defends his title against Sheamus after their instant classic title match at Clash at the Castle.

It should be interesting to see how things play out on tonight’s show.

SmackDown kicks off with Triple H in the ring, Triple H welcomes everyone to the season premier of SmackDown, immediately after this Triple H is cut off by Roman Reigns’ music and out comes the entire Bloodline. After their entrance, Reigns gets the crowd to acknowledge him before Logan Paul makes his way out to the ring to interrupt the Bloodline’s 20-minute opening promo, in front of Triple H no less.

Reigns begins to laugh as Paul approaches the ring. Reigns says this is his show and Paul is his guest, and he invites Paul into the ring and Paul enters the ring as we hear very loud “Logan sucks” chants from the crowd. Reigns says there are a lot of things they can teach Paul. Heyman calls Paul this generations version of Mr. T and Cyndi Lauper, the outside star that they bring in to get more viewers so that more and more people will get the chance to acknowledge Roman Reigns. Heyman calls Paul pseudo-celebrity male Kardashian who will be laying on a hospital bed making internet content about the time he got smashed by Roman Reigns.

Logan Paul calls out Jey Uso which causes Jey to need to be held back by Jimmy as the crowd is entirely in favor of the Bloodline here as they loudly cheer for their favorite Uce, Sami Zayn, who gets on the mic to tell everyone to calm down for a second. Zayn says to Reigns that Jey Uso did nothing wrong, Zayn calls out Logan Paul, Zayn tells Paul that after Reigns smashes Paul at Crown Jewel, The Bloodline will still be there after Paul is defeated and gone.

Solo Sikoa vs Ricochet

The match begins with Sikoa hitting Ricochet with a lariat before his entrance is over. the bell rings an Sikoa hits a big uppercut. Ricochet hits a flying cross body and follows with a moonsault from the second rope. Sikoa grabs a chair and referee Charles Robinson prevents him from bringing it into the ring. Sikoa gets back in the ring without the chair and hits Ricochet with an Irish whip to the corner. Ricochet goes for a springboard move but Sikoa hits with a big uppercut to knock Ricochet down to the floor outside the ring.

The match continues live with Sikoa hitting another big uppercut to Ricochet. Ricochet hits a drop kick and then a running knee. Ricochet goes to the top rope and goes for a shooting star press but Sikoa catches and hits Ricochet with the spinning solo and makes the cover for three.

Winner: Solo Sikoa

SmackDown returns with Hit Row making their entrance for an upcoming match. Out of nowhere Hit Row are attacked by three men in luchador masks, Hit Row are beaten down in the ring when B-Fab checks in on them, only to be met with a top rope drop kick from a returning Zelina Vega. After the beat down, The three unmask revealing themselves to be Legado Del Fantasma making their main roster debut.

Sonya Deville & Xia li vs Shotzi & Raquel Rodriguez

The match begins with Shotzi and Deville in the ring. Off a distraction by Li Deville takes a cheap shot to gain the early advantage. Deville and Li go for a double suplex but Shotzi manages to escape and make the tag to Rodriguez. Rodriguez hits Deville with a fall away slam and follows with the corkscrew elbow splash. Rodriguez then hits with the Tejada bomb and covers for three.

Winners: Shotzi & Raquel Rodriguez

Back live with Karrion Kross and Scarlett making their entrance. Drew McIntyre sneaks up from behind and takes out Kross from behind. Security guards run out and McIntyre takes out each and every one of them before Kross gets back to his feet and slams McIntyre into the ring post. Kross grabs the strap McIntyre brought to the ring and Kross repeatedly whips McIntyre’s back with the strap.

Sami Zayn & The Usos vs The New Day & Braun Strowman

The match begins with Xavier Woods and Sami Zayn in a lock up. Woods locks in a side head lock and hits a shoulder tackle. Kingston tags in and hits a flying cross body. Jey Uso tags in and is immediately hit with a drop kick by Kingston. Woods and Kingston hit a double dive to take out The Usos on the outside.

The match continues live with Jimmy Uso hitting right hands to Kingston down on the mat. Zayn tags in and as soon as he gets in the ring Jey Uso tags himself in. Jey slams Kingston into the corner and tags Jimmy back in. Jimmy tags Zayn back in and hits a big lariat to Kingston before Jey tags himself back in with a hard slap to the back in as Jey looks like he is ready to destroy Zayn. Jimmy tags in and soon tags Zayn back in, Zayn holds his hand out and Jey Uso eventually tags in. Zayn and Jey begin to argue in the corner as Jimmy has to run in and break them up, allowing Kingston to tag Strowman in who hits a running splash to Jimmy in the corner. Strowman hits a choke slam and tags Woods in Jey and Zayn argue on the outside as Strowman charges and takes them both out with a shoulder tag. Woods and Kingston hit the midnight hour and Woods covers for three.

Intercontinental Championship

Gunther vs Sheamus

Our main event Intercontinental Championship match begins with the two hitting each other with forearm strikes. Sheamus hits a lariat and the two brawl on the outside. Sheamus throws Gunther into the barricade and then to the announce table.

The match continues live with with Sheamus hitting a lariat from off the top rope. GUnther rolls out to the apron and Sheamus goes for the ten beats of the Bodhran but Gunther catches Sheamus’ hand and drags him out to the ring apron. Gunther slams Sheamus off the top turnbuckle causing Sheamus to fall to the ground. Gunther locks in a sleeper hold on the mat, sheamus rolls through and powers to his feet. Gunther and Sheamus trade chops and punches as my chest hurts just watching that sequence.

Back live with Gunther hitting a forearm strike to Sheamus. Gunther hits more chops and forearms before Sheamus begins to answer with forearm strikes of his own. Sheamus hits the ten beats of the Bodhran before putting Gunther on the middle rope and hitting ten more, and then on the bottom rope for ten more. Sheamus puts Gunther on his shoulders and climbs to the top rope to hit the white noise from the second rope, Sheamus covers for a two count. Gunther hits a drop kick an hits a power bomb, Gunther covers but Sheamus kicks out at two. Gunther goes to the top ripe and hits a splash to the back of Sheamus’ neck. Sheamus hits the Irish curse and then locks in the clover leaf, Gunther looks to have tapped out but the referee waves it off as Gunther grabs the middle rope, commentary tries to explain it but the live crowd must be very confused at this. Imperium runs out but out come the Brawling Brutes to take out Imperium. Kaiser slides Gunther a shillelagh and with the ref’s back turned Gunther hits with the shillelagh and covers for three.

Winner: Gunther
