Andrade El Idolo made a name for himself working in CMLL in Mexico as well as New Japan Pro Wrestling. He then honed his craft in WWE and eventually made his way to AEW. Lucha Libre promotion AAA also figured out that having Kenny Omega win against Andrade El Idolo at TripleMania was the better decision.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Kenny Omega offered to lose the Mega Championship to Andrade. The original booking plan was for Andrade to win but the price he was asking was way too high. AAA then decided that they would rather have Kenny Omega win.

At that time, Kenny Omega was very open to losing to Andrade. Losing the championship to Andrade. At first, the original booking plan was for Andrade to win and then AAA decided that Andrade was… I guess it was the price that he was asking. And with the price he was asking, they figured they would rather have Kenny Omega win.

So, Omega won the match even though Flair was there and everything like that and I don’t believe Andrade worked again, but he has not worked some recent shows there. Also, working for AAA meant he couldn’t go to New Japan. I know he would like to go back to New Japan. When he was younger, he held the Intercontinental Title there. He feuded with Shinsuke Nakamura. He was very disappointed when he went to WWE because he thought Andrade could have been a major superstar in Japan.

The head of La Faccion Ingobernables recently posted a picture of himself striking Triple H’s iconic D-Generation X pose to Twitter. He also published a second cryptic letter that hinted at being open to discussions in other places. Afterward, he stated that he can “answer your questions” and signed off with “#FreeElIdolo.”

Andrade El Idolo is set to face off against Preston Vance, where he put his career on the line. We will have to wait and see whether Idolo will leave AEW or not. Stay tuned to Ringside News for the latest updates.
