WWE Takes Major Shot At Dave Meltzer During NXT This Week

Dave Meltzer acquired a reputation as a widely read journalist when kayfabe was still a thing. Meltzer came up with his five-star ratings system as well. The veteran journalist’s name came up during this week’s edition of NXT.

WWE aired a pre-taped edition of NXT from the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, tonight. The September 27th, 2022, edition of the white and gold brand featured a Chase University segment as well.

Andre Chase hyped up his North American Championship qualifier against Von Wagner during a press conference on NXT tonight. A journalist, ‘Dave,’ asked Chase how confident he was feeling heading into the match next week because he had never beat Wagner.

Chase went ballistic and called out the person for allegedly mocking him, saying that’s not a ‘five-star’ question. It was quite a teachable moment, full of profanities and insider lingo. If this wasn’t intended to be a shot at Uncle Dave, then it was a missed opportunity. You can check out the full video below.
