Joey Janela made a name for himself during his time at AEW. While he had quite a few memorable moments of his career there, his contract expired on May 1st. However, there are many things left unexplained after him leaving the company.

Janela was part of vignettes with his partner Sonny Kiss. The entertaining vignettes resonated well with a lot of people to lighten the mood. However, they were eventually scrapped.

The former AEW star revealed on Twitter why the vignettes fully disappeared from AEW programming. He said that Tony Khan initially hated them, and never even wanted for them to be on air.

Janela previously spoke about the vignettes on Renee Paquette’s podcast “The Sessions.” He came up with the idea with former AEW Vice President Cody Rhodes and said that if he had more time, his team up with Kiss would have been more popular. Janela has since been making strides at Game Changer Wrestling.
