AEW introduced the inaugural ‘Winter is Coming’ special edition of Dynamite in 2020. Kenny Omega won his first and only AEW World Championship so far during said TV special.

AEW brought back Winter is Coming for 2021. MJF and Dante Martin fought for the Diamond Ring during the show’s main event. It appears that AEW is going forward with making Winter is Coming an annual show.

Tony Khan recently sat down with 105.3 The Fan for an interview. Khan talked about numerous things including the possibility of turning Winter is Coming into an annual special.

“I do think if the numbers on TNT and TBS keep up where they’re at, you all keep doing a great job watching the shows and supporting us, why not [do the show in Dallas]. Let’s keep going, I love the Dallas market and there’s a good chance we’ll come back and do Winter is Coming again this year. Let’s do it.”
