RVD was already a household name when he signed with WWE in 2001. He was told to lie to the fans about being related to action superstar Jean-Claude Van Damme.

RVD became face towards the end of 2001 and entered into a feud with then World Heavyweight Champion Triple H. Despite being super over with the fans, Van Dam failed to dethrone The King of Kings for the title.

RVD did, however, pin Triple H during a non-title match on the September 2nd, 2002, episode of Raw. WWE’s official Twitter account posted a short clip from the match on Friday.

The twenty-year-old video caught the attention of Rob, who jokingly said he doesn’t remember beating Triple H. For those wondering, RVD unsuccessfully challenged Triple H for the WHC at the Unforgiven pay-per-view on September 22nd, 2022.

I got a win over Hunter? WTF? Where was I?

RVD has previously stated he would be happy to work with WWE again. Van Dam is a veteran of the business and the new generation of WWE superstars could learn a lot from him.
