Sasha Banks and Naomi were indefinitely suspended since walking out during the May 16th edition of WWE RAW. As they progressed through the ranks in NXT together and as members of the Four Horsewomen alongside Bayley and Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Banks will always be linked. Charlotte Flair offered her opinion on Sasha Banks and Naomi’s May exit.
Despite being the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Banks & Naomi left the company on May 16’s episode of WWE Raw. According to reports, Banks met Vince McMahon during the event and the two were unhappy with a situation, but neither would budge. The following WWE SmackDown event announced that they had been put on extended leave.
Since losing the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania Backlash, Charlotte hasn’t been seen on WWE TV. On the Broken Skull Sessions, Charlotte was questioned by Steve Austin what she thought about Sasha and Naomi leaving.
One, I haven’t been there, because I left after (WrestleMania) Backlash. I know what it’s like to jump on social media and read these headlines that are so far from the truth. I don’t know what happened. What I can say is, I can’t imagine never wrestling Sasha again. That would be hard for me to compartmentalize. We started together. She’s my Ricky Steamboat, my dad always tells her that. With Trin [Naomi], we just had a hell of a match on SmackDown and I’m like, ‘Oh, there is unfinished business there’ because of circumstances and storylines and whatever, we just, ‘here, you two wrestle.’ For me, I just can’t imagine not working with them. In terms of what they’re going through, it’s not my place to speak on behalf of the company or them because I’m not there right now.
Banks & Naomi have not made any public remarks about the predicament, and it is uncertain what their current WWE status is. As Charlotte wed Andrade El Idolo and left on her honeymoon, she was off the television. She has not announced a return date for television.
