Rhea Ripley worked hard to establish herself as one of the top stars in all of WWE. She has won both the NXT Women’s and the RAW Women’s Championship, so Ripley already knows what success feels like.
For the past few weeks, Judgment Day has been feuding with The Mysterios. It has largely seen Rhea Ripley torment Dominik Mysterio in some form. She choked him with her legs once and also beat him up badly.
While speaking to Liam Power, Damian Priest was asked about fans going crazy over Rhea Ripley choking Dominik Mysterio with her legs. Priest stated that it was expected.
“That was one of those that, when we talked about what we wanted to do, we were very, especially Rhea, she was like, ‘Oh my god, my creep fan base are gonna go crazy over this.’ We knew what was gonna happen. They did. The next day, we were just laughing hysterically about it it. She was like, yeah, pretty much what we thought would happen. She was like, ‘I knew it.’ It was like let’s do it, then. Let’s give them something to talk about, which is what we try to do anyway and just make sure people talk about us tomorrow, next week, next year. That’s the goal, right, and let’s do it in a cool way, and she did it. Because we did our business, she choked him out, and we were telling a story.
Damian Priest is set to square off against Edge on Monday Night RAW next week in a singles match. We will have to wait and see how the match will turn out to be.
