Former Knockouts World Champion Mickie James last wrestled on the July 14th episode of IMPACT Wrestling. The 42-year-old female star is considered by many to be one of the trailblazers of women’s wrestling. When asked about potentially teaming with a current WWE star, James hinted that her time in the ring might be finished.

In response to someone on Twitter asking if James could be Asuka’s partner for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament, the former Women’s Champion gave a simple answer of “no” and proceeded to suggest that she’s done with wrestling. She later provided a lengthy follow-up about why she feels that way.

I appreciate you. Honestly I’ve been so blessed & love my fans so much! I wouldn’t have had all this without you. What is left for me to prove anymore? What else can I do? Id rather bow out screaming “Womens Wrestling Matters” from the top of the mountain than the valley.

Mickie James held the WWE Women’s Championship a total of 5 times and the Divas Championship once. Many fans would remember her standout feud with Trish Stratus, which ended with James capturing the championship for the first time at WrestleMania 22.
