Vince McMahon once again became a subject of controversy back in June after it was revealed that he secretly paid $3 million as settlement to a departing employee. Simply because of this, McMahon was under investigation, and he had to retire. This was a surprise for a lot of people, including Chris Jericho.

It was later discovered that McMahon also paid $12 million in hush money to several women over the last twenty years. This was the last straw for many people, ultimately leading to McMahon’s true fall from grace.

While speaking on Talk Is Jericho, Chris Jericho talked bout Vince McMahon’s allegations and subsequent retirement. Jericho admitted that he thought McMahon would make his allegations disappear.

“40 years plus of wrestling and Vince McMahon synonymous and then done, that quick. Boom, gone. And it really did surprise me because, once again, maybe because you and I live within kind of the wrestling bubble where it’s like, ‘It’s just wrestling. Nobody in the corporate world takes wrestling history. He beat the government, and he’s been through this scandal, and he’s been through that scandal, and this one will just go away.’ I was really thinking for a while that it was just going to be kind of a flash in the pan, and Vince would make it disappear like he did everything else.”
