Last month during Fyter Fest Week 2, the show’s main event saw Jericho and Eddie Kingston facing each other in a “Barbed Wire Everywhere Match.” It turns out The Wizard has no wishes for that to happen again any time soon.

Their match was a bloody and brutal affair to close out the show. In the end, Chris Jericho won the match after Anna Jay turned heel during the match, opening the shark cage, allowing Jericho Appreciation Society to escape and enter the ring.

The match was also full of errors, such as Jericho’s blading being caught on camera and Tay Conti’s inability to unlock the shark cage. While speaking on the Absolute Geek podcast, Chris Jericho made it clear that he has no intention of doing another Barbed Wire match anytime soon.

“I have stitches actually on my inner thigh, which I’ve never had before and is a little too close for comfort. It was pretty brutal, but that’s kind of what we do, it happens sometimes. I think everyone enjoyed it and those types of matches are good for the wrestling business because people get a little bit too ‘oh, it’s not real,’ and someone gets cut on barbed wire and it changes people’s perception. It’s good to do that once in awhile. Will I ever have another barbed wire match? I’d like to say no. I’ve had two in my career, 30 years a part, maybe in another 30 years I’ll have another one.”

Chris Jericho is set to challenge Jox Moxley for the Interim AEW World Championship at Quake By The Lake. We’ll have to see how the match will turn out to be.
