Johnny Gargano was touted as the heart and soul of NXT by many fans due to his excellent feuds with the likes of Tommaso Ciampa, Adam Cole and more. He has had various nicknames such as Johnny Wrestling, Johnny TakeOver and more. Gargano is a free agent and has a young family, so he isn’t in any rush to return to pro wrestling.

Gargano left NXT earlier this year and is simply enjoying the life of being a parent and husband. He still hasn’t returned to the pro wrestling world, and fans just wonder when Gargano will be back.

The most obvious options for him are WWE and AEW right now. While speaking at Starrcast V, Johnny Gargano stated that he will sit back and wait before joining AEW or WWE.

“This time period of my life has given me a unique opportunity to sit back and survey the landscape of everything. If I would have made a decision immediately, who knows what would have happened. The fact that I told myself that I was going to sit back, watch what happens, and make a decision based off that. I love things where both places are going. There are pros and cons, get it, cons, Khans, wordplay. I love what both places are doing.”

It remains to be seen when Johnny Gargano will return to pro wrestling, and whether he’ll choose WWE or AEW in the end. With Triple H gaining control of WWE’s booking, that certainly raises the chances that WWE is much more attractive to Johnny Wrestling.
