Kenny Omega is well-known for his time spent wrestling in Japan. He was one of the biggest foreign stars in NJPW before going full-time with AEW when it launched in 2019. Omega knows thing or two about what kind of talent the country produces.

Miyu Yamashita is not a name many American wrestling fans are familiar with. Yamashita is one of the major stars in Tokyo Joshi Pro. She will challenge Thunder Rosa for the AEW Women’s World Championship on tonight’s episode of Dynamite.

Yamashita defeated Rosa in Japan to earn the title shot. There has been a lot of talk online that Miyu is not deserving of the match. Kenny Omega took to Twitter to defend her and blast “ignorant” fans for not giving her a chance.

“Even with the few visits she’s had overseas she’s already been introduced to how ignorant and pathetic the know-it-all “fans” on social media can be.

Ignore them and show everyone just how obvious the difference in skill is. The true supporters are also watching and support you.”

Kenny Omega has always been a huge fan of Japanese women’s wrestling. Miyu Yamashita is one of the best on the Joshi scene. Tonight, an American audience will get to take a look, and The Cleaner thinks they’ll like what they see.
