AEW has some of its biggest superstars out of commission due to injuries. The big names include Kenny Omega, Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson and even CM Punk. While there are plenty of other big names active on the AEW roster, fans want to know when can they expect their favorite superstars back in the ring.

CM Punk was slated to defend his AEW title, though he had to take a step back because of the injury. The belt will be unified upon his return with the AEW World Title. Jon Moxley currently holds the belt. Danielson missed the big events altogether, while Cole sustained his injury during AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event.

AEW President Tony Khan recently spoke with The New York Post about his thought on the stars. He provided an update on both Adam Cole and Kenny Omega’s conditions. He first gave his take on Kenny Omega.

I’m always concerned whenever a wrestler has an injury, but in Kenny Omega’s case he carried the load through more injuries than probably anyone I’ve seen in terms of working through a sustained period where he was limited and still having great matches in the ring, and also doing great box office for the company as a great champion. It is a little bit different because you’re dealing with multiple injuries as opposed to one injury. I’m optimistic. I don’t want to put a timetable on it. I’m still optimistic Kenny’s coming back.”

“I think it’s gonna go well. I think he’s gonna be OK. I don’t know when and I’m optimistic. Nobody can put themselves in his shoes, but I feel good about it. I’m gonna talk more to him too. I know he’s been through a lot but I know he’s still trying to get back.

Kenny Omega recently said that he would be “done” if he suffers with another setback. While speaking about Adam Cole, Khan said that he would make sure he’s fully recovered before coming back.

He had no contact between “Double or Nothing” and “Forbidden Door.” He was on commentary. He had been cleared to wrestle. So now I’m also gonna take some time [off] for him. We had already taken some time and I’ll take some more time make sure he’s right and wouldn’t want him to wrestle until he’s feeling 100 percent. He was feeling 100 percent going into “Forbidden Door.” That’s how unpredictable these are.

Khan’s update didn’t shed any light on when the two AEW titans will return. However, he did give a very positive account. With so many other stars such as Kyle O’Reilly, Bobby Fish, and Santana also being injured, it’s important for fans to show their support. Adam Cole recently thanked his fans for all their good wishes.
