WWE has a lot going on, but not every storyline can see its way to a proper finish. It seems that Vince McMahon’s company has given up on another future angle.

Doudrop and Nikki A.S.H. have been the ultimate on-again-off-again tag team on Monday Night Raw. It seems every couple of weeks the duo either hints at split or tries to galvanize as a team. On this week’s episode of Raw, the storyline was presented as a complete non-factor.

Alexa Bliss and Liv Morgan took on Doudrop and Nikki A.S.H. in a Money in the Bank qualifying match. Alexa and Liv got the victory to qualify for a shot at the contract. On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE appears to have given up the storyline involving Doudrop and Nikki A.S.H. after Bryan Alvarez made not of the strange booking decision.

“It’s not there anymore.”

Doudrop competed on last week’s Raw in a fatal four-way to determine a new #1 contender for Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. During the match, Nikki and Doudrop worked together after it was hinted that they might break up. That story has gone nowhere fast, including being completely ignored during the Raw tag match.

With Nikki A.S.H. and Doudrop out of the MITB picture and with no starting date set for a women’s tag team title tournament, there is not much going on between the two. A breakup angle would keep things fresh and provide a new rivalry for the women’s division. So far, it looks like they’re simply being kept together.

It will be interesting to see what direction WWE takes Nikki A.S.H. and Doudrop in the coming weeks. For now, they are an aimless tag team with no goals or major conflicts. As other women are pushed to the top of the card in anticipation of Money in the Bank, we’ll see if creative can come up with anything for the pair.
