CM Punk’s AEW Rampage Announcement Likely Injury Related

CM Punk just won the AEW World Title at Double or Nothing, but it appears that his reign could be a short one. We are not sure what the extent is of his injury, but the Second City Savior appears to be hurt.

It was previously noted that Punk appeared to have hurt himself on Wednesday. Some say that he hurt himself while jumping into the crowd, but he certainly wasn’t 100% during the 6-man tag match that followed.

According to Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s little paywall, word going around is that Punk’s foot is hurt. It is unknown what will become of the AEW World Title or how serious this announcement is.

Those that I’ve spoken to say CM Punk was backstage talking about his foot being hurt Wednesday.

I do not know if this is the announcement or related to it, but that’s the update we’ve heard.

CM Punk just got to the top of AEW and it would be a shame for him to lose his title so soon. He certainly has a lot of perspective matches in the pipeline.
