Tony Khan surprised the wrestling world when he announced that he had purchased Ring of Honor. The company had just come off lengthy hiatus and planned to return with the Supercard of Honor pay-per-view. After Khan bought the promotion, the show went as planned and was well-received.

Since then, Khan has been hunting for the right deal to get ROH back on television. The championships from ROH have been defended regularly on AEW Dynamite and Rampage. It seems to be a matter of time before Ring of Honor is back full-time.

At his press conference to promote Sunday’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view, Tony Khan was asked why he didn’t purchase ROH under the AEW umbrella. Khan said he jumped on it personally. Tony believes ROH deserves to be its own entity, although he expects both companies to work together.

“Price was right, opportunity was right.”

Time will tell when fans will get a taste of the new vision for Ring of Honor. Tony Khan is a huge wrestling fan, and plans to treat the organization with the respect he feels it deserves. The fact that ROH has been featured regularly on AEW programming is a testament to that.

With Double or Nothing just days away, there has not been much buzz about Ring of Honor. That doesn’t mean that Tony Khan isn’t working diligently behind the scenes on his plans for the legendary promotion. Hopefully, it is not too long before ROH gets its much-deserved rebirth.
