William Regal’s contributions to the pro wrestling world are something no one can deny. Regal is heralded as one of the greatest minds in pro wrestling and it is not hard to see why. Lord Regal also holds no ill will towards his WWE release and believes it made sense.

After his WWE release earlier this year, William Regal made his debut in AEW during the AEW Revolution pay-per-view. Regal is now leading the Blackpool Combat Club along with Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson and Wheeler Yuta.

While speaking on The Sessions with Renee Paquette, William Regal talked about his WWE release. Lord Regal said that he feels his release made perfect business sense and that he even expected it.

“I was expecting it, to be honest. It makes perfect business sense, as well. You can’t have somebody else come in when everybody there is still coming up to me and asking me what should they be doing … It was the perfect storm, and then [Triple H] got ill.”

William Regal also has no intention of dissing WWE with his new podcast. Regal will forever be grateful for his many years in WWE. Regal simply has a new goal in mind and will set about accomplishing it in AEW and that is what matters to him right now.
