Hit Row member Top Dolla transitioned from the world of football to professional wrestling. It did not take him long to get adjusted to WWE’s way of pro wrestling and the results spoke for themselves. WWE also had interesting plans for Top Dolla, including a gig as the host for RAW Underground.

Top Dolla was seen as the leader of Hit Row due to his impressive mic skills and well-liked diss tracks. It did not matter in the end as Hit Row was let go by WWE back in November last year. Then WWE changed up that plan and made Swerve Scott the leader before releasing the entire faction.

RAW Underground was an interesting concept for many, but flawed execution led to its downfall. The recurring segment was eventually nixed because Vince McMahon didn’t want to mix all the brands during the COVID-19 pandemic. Shane McMahon was the host of RAW Underground for the entirety of the segments.

While speaking to Fightful Pro Wrestling & MMA Podcast, Top Dolla talked about WWE’s plans for him. Dolla revealed that he was considered to host RAW Underground at one time.

“The true story about that is Edge calls me and he goes, ‘Send me some promos’, and I’m like, ‘All right.’ Edge is a really good guy and he’s always looking to help out. I send like two or three promos.

He doesn’t get back to me until the next day. I’m on the road doing ‘Most Wanted Treasures’ at this point. So he’s like, ‘Yeah, you know, we were in a meeting with Vince and other people. They were talking about who’s going to host RAW Underground and I thought you would be the perfect host for it. They actually were going to run with you as the host, but you’re on the road doing Most Wanted Treasures, and that’s going to take up too much of your schedule to do RAW Underground.’

So that’s when Shane came out as the host.”

Top Dolla also previously confirmed that he had talks with Impact Wrestling. He is also contracted for WWE’s Most Wanted Treasures series. It remains to be seen whether Dolla will return to WWE or not.
