Danhausen became an internet sensation due to his excellent character work and the ability to become viral. He debuted in AEW back in January of this year and since then, has remained one of the highlights of the company. Jeff Hardy also has a very interesting idea concerning Danhausen.

One of the best storylines in AEW right now is Danhausen and Hook’s hilarious alliance. Fans are certainly invested in their storyline as well. Jeff Hardy has a lot of respect for Danhausen and it shows, but there’s always room to evolve.

While speaking on the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Jeff Hardy talked about meeting Danhausen. Hardy revealed that he and Danhausen discussed an interesting idea for his very nice, very evil character. It would see Danhausen become a parody of The Fiend, called The Friend.

“Me and Danhausen talked about this, his face was painted and everything. We were talking about, he said, ‘what if, I don’t know, instead of The Fiend, he came out and he was ‘The Friend.’ That’s what’s so cool about professional wrestling, so much is possible.”

Danhausen and Hook are set to square off against Tony Nese and Smart Mark Sterling on the Buy-In preshow before Double or Nothing. We’ll have to see whether Danhausen ends up parodying The Fiend. It would certainly be a very nice, very evil idea for the AEW star.
