AEW has gone through a lot of changes since its inception back in 2019. The company has strived to be an alternative to WWE and for the most part, they have succeeded in that. AEW’s May 29th pay-per-view, Double or Nothing, has also broken a huge record.

2021 was arguably AEW’s biggest year due to the huge success that was All Out. The company carried on with the momentum with AEW Full Gear and this year’s AEW Revolution as well.

As previously reported, AEW’s Forbidden Door event broke the $1 million gate. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW Double Or Nothing will end up with a gate around $1.2 million.

This will make the event the largest gate in the history of professional wrestling outside of WWE. At the event, CM Punk will challenge Adam Page for the AEW World Title as well. We will have to wait and see how successful AEW will become in the coming months.
