Kenny Omega Drags Mixed Tag Team Match Rule

Kenny Omega is considered one of the best pro wrestlers on the planet and it is not hard to see why. He is also opinionated when it comes to how the pro wrestling business works. Omega also dragged WWE’s way of doing mixed tag team matches.

Kenny Omega is a champion for women’s wrestling in general and is a big advocate for mixed tag team matches as well. He has competed in many of them himself.

Omega partnered up with Riho to take on Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford on Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager at Sea in 2020. Omega took to Twitter and reminisced about the match, while also dragging mixed tag team match rule, where they are forced to tag out.

Best mix match in AEW history by far. It helped that it was an actual match and not the weird “must tag out” rules. Those suck real bad.

Kenny Omega also underwent major hernia surgery a while ago. We will have to wait and see whether WWE will ever change their stance on mixed tag team matches, as unlikely as it sounds.
