WWE Hall Of Famer Edge is truly one of the most dependable veterans in the company right now. He has done it all when it comes to being a pro wrestler. Edge also gave huge props to Hit Row for their promo game.

Hit Row made their way to the WWE main roster last year on Friday Night Smackdown as part of the WWE Draft. They had a memorable run in NXT, even if it was not a long one.

They never really got a proper chance on the main roster as Hit Row was released by WWE back in November of last year. While speaking on Talk Is Jericho, Swerve Strickland revealed that Hit Row was asked to cut an impromptu promo to see how they would fare on the main roster.

After their promo, Swerve revealed that Edge told Hit Row that their content was what WWE needed, as it was hip and young.

“The first thing was, like, when we did the draft, we were there in Baltimore. We did a dark match and we had AJ [Top Dolla] wrestle Cedric [Alexander]. But before that, we had a two-minute promo live, like all four of us. They just want to see how we interact and stuff like that. They didn’t even ask to hear it, they was, like, ‘oh no, you got two minutes, do your thing.’ Very rare for all four of us? Four people with a microphone?

We just, like, had some lines tucked away so two and a half minutes literally [Swerve created some noises]…and then we wrapped it up and then they had the match and everything. Edge was one of the first few to greet us in the back, like, ‘We need this product, we need this on this brand. You know, this is a great content that we need. It’s young, it’s hip,’ and then we’re, like, ‘Oh cool.'”

Swerve Strickland is currently teaming up with Keith Lee on AEW television. We’ll have to see what the company has in store for him as fans simply want to see him succeed.
