Shane McMahon stirred up a lot of controversy for his backstage behavior at this year’s WWE Royal Rumble. McMahon was said to have been a nightmare backstage. Ringside News exclusively reported that McMahon had quietly been let go from the company after the incident. Another exclusive report noted that Shane was not going to be featured on WrestleMania. That report was confirmed when Shane did not show up on camera.

Some expected Shane to appear on camera at some point during WrestleMania weekend. That did not take place. McMahon was reportedly in attendance at all the WWE events over the weekend, though.

Mike Johnson of PW Insider noted that McMahon attended the events with his sons. Shane McMahon did not appear on camera, but he was there to support the family business. There was speculation that Shane was the backup plan in case Cody Rhodes changed his mind about jumping to WWE.

“While he did not appear on camera, Shane McMahon was at all of the WWE events this past weekend.  McMahon was with his sons at the events.”

It is not known if WWE plans to bring back Shane McMahon any time soon. If it were going to happen, WrestleMania would have been the perfect stage. Shane didn’t appear, but he can’t be ruled out for a future run.

WrestleMania did feature a McMahon during the show. Vince McMahon defeated Pat McAfee before taking a stunner from Steve Austin. Shane was not featured on television, but he did enjoy the weekend’s events with his family.
