Becky Lynch Says Fans Are Chanting ‘Colby’ At Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins was given the name Colby Daniel Lopez at birth. The WWE superstar was then known as Tyler Black on the independent circuit. Ultimately, he was given his current character name after joining the developmental program.

Rollins is all but confirmed to be facing Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 38. Fans who follow the news are well aware of it. Seth’s recent appearances on Raw have been met with frequent chants of “Cody!”

Becky Lynch recently talked to IB Sports about the chants. Lynch, Seth Rollins’ wife, noted that the fans were just chanting his government name. Becky said the fans are actually yelling, “Colby!”

“You’re thinking of his government name. Seth’s government name is Colby. I think because everybody feels like they know him so well, they’ve been chanting ‘Col-by, Col-by!’

I mean, he’s so good that he could have a match with himself and it would be awesome. So yeah, maybe he’ll be forced to have a match with himself, but hell, if it wasn’t on the same night that my match is, he could steal the show.”

It was an amusing take on the matter by Big Time Becks. The WWE Universe will find out for sure this weekend. WrestleMania 38 takes place on Saturday and Sunday and can be watched live on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network elsewhere.
